Admission is free, but voluntary contributions are welcome. The number of visitors
per year is approx. 16.000.
There is a cafeteria with coffee, tea and cake. Hot meals are not served.
Visitors can enjoy their own picnics inside the cafeteria or in the grounds.
The museum opened by private initiative on 15 May 1981
in an old converted farmhouse. Kirsten was born in the nearby village of Vester
Thorup, and spent her last summers in the neighbouring farmhouse. Since its
modest start, the museum complex has developed into an art centre, with
workshop facilities for metal, bronze casting, ceramics, and graphics. Classical
concerts form part of the museum’s activities, including a yearly classical chamber music “jamboree”
in week 30 with 12-16 participants.

persons or groups who apply to use the workshops or attend courses, and another
